You’d think I’d be over it by now.

It's been one year today since we had to put Salt to sleep.

I'm still not over it. I still miss him fiercely. I read a news column in the paper a couple of years ago about "lifetime dogs" – those dogs that you remember forever. The ones that hold a special place in your heart, no matter what dog you've had before or after. Salt was a lifetime cat, and there is a Salty-shaped hole in my heart to this day.

Every so often, I catch my breath because I miss Astro. It's been 4 years now.

Now, I am watching Sugar wind down. I catch myself watching her closely to see if her sides are moving, and looking hard at her face when she wakes up to see if she needs a pain med. She's old for a boxer, almost 12.

I know what you mean.

Nope, we never really get over our missing family members.

I don't want to post stuff in THIS entry, but I can't post at the Maker Faire entry. Help me out here.

I hope the Faire comes to Austin this year. I will go.

And after the Benny Lava video-I swear, I will pray every night for long hair that sizzles. THAT'S HOT!
